As I sit and reflect on this past season of home assignment, my heart is overwhelmed with gratitude. What began as a scheduled return turned into a deeply meaningful journey, one filled with love, encouragement, prayer, and the unmistakable presence of God, expressed so beautifully through each of you.
From the very first district I visited to the final church I embraced; I was met with open arms and open hearts. You didn’t just welcome me—you received me. You listened to the stories from Africa, shared in our burdens, rejoiced in what God is doing, and poured into my spirit when I didn’t even realize I needed it.
To the district leaders—thank you for your coordination, your hospitality, and your leadership. You made sure I felt at home, even when I was miles away from the field. You gave me platforms not only to speak but to be heard and supported.
To the pastors and church boards—thank you for giving me your pulpits and trusting me with your congregations. Your kindness behind the scenes, your prayers before services, and your generous spirits reminded me that the Church of the Nazarene is truly one body under God!
To the brethren in the pews—you are more than supporters. You are family. Every hug, every handshake, every warm conversation over coffee or potluck helped knit my heart closer to yours. You showed me that mission work is not something we (as missionaries) do alone—it’s something we do together. Your faithful prayers, financial support, and genuine interest in my calling gave me renewed strength and vision.
And to the unsung heroes—those who hosted me in their homes, offered a meal, helped with transportation, or slipped me a word of encouragement just when I needed it most—thank you. You’ve touched my life more deeply than you may ever know.
This home assignment wasn’t just a time of reporting—it was a season of reconnecting, realigning, and being reminded that the same God at work where I serve overseas is just as powerfully at work there among you.
I have returned to the field with a full heart, not only because of the mission ahead, but because of the family I left behind - each of you.
Thank you for making this home assignment a time of rest, renewal, and rejoicing. I love you all dearly and carry you with me in prayer.
Until we meet again
With a grateful heart
Carlos
