About Me

Biography

Born on 16 September in Spanish Town, Jamaica, I embarked on a journey of faith that would lead me to serve as the Regional Finance Coordinator for the Africa Region. Growing up, I developed a deep connection to my community and a strong desire to serve others.

I have always had a heart for missions, and my background in project management opened doors for me to serve in the finance department of the Church of the Nazarene. My role allows me to combine my passion for ministry with my expertise in managing budgets to ensure the financial health of our projects.

Personal Testimony

Looking back on this incredible journey, I am amazed at how God has led me, step by step, to where I am today. As the first global missionary in the Church of the Nazarene ever sent from the small island of Jamaica, I never imagined that I would be where I am now—serving  as the Regional Finance Coordinator for the Africa Region.  This role being so different from what I initially envisioned and with no formal ministerial training, no  real background in finance, and a completely different career path, I found myself in uncharted territory. Yet, as I reflect on this journey, I see that God has woven every experience and skill I’ve gained into a bigger story—one of trust, growth, and faithfulness to His calling.

When I first felt the call to serve as a missionary, I had no idea what the journey would look like. I just knew that God was inviting me to step out in faith, to go beyond the boundaries of what I knew and what felt comfortable. It was a daunting but exciting step, and one that required me to trust God wholeheartedly.

I didn’t (still don’t) have any formal theological training, and I certainly wasn’t prepared for the challenges that lay ahead. But what I did have was a heart that was willing to follow, a willingness to trust that God would equip me for whatever was to come. God had a plan for me, even though I couldn’t yet see it.

When I was asked to serve in a financial role, it was both daunting and unexpected. I had no formal training in finance (except a few course I completed during my MBA), and at first, I felt completely out of my depth. However, my background in Project Management and my Master's in International Business Management prepared me in ways I couldn’t have anticipated. Project management had taught me how to navigate complex situations, manage resources, and meet deadlines, all skills that would prove invaluable. Meanwhile, my education in business management had given me a strategic mindset—skills in financial planning, organizational leadership, and critical thinking—that turned out to be exactly what was needed for this role.

At first, I struggled to connect the dots between business management and serving in the mission, but quickly, I realized that they were not so different after all. Both require stewardship. Both involve making decisions that reflect a greater purpose and using available resources wisely. My experience in managing budgets, making long-term strategic decisions, and leading teams helped me approach financial challenges with confidence, knowing that I was called to serve in this capacity for a higher purpose. I began to see that managing finances was not just about numbers—it was about making decisions that would impact the people we served and the mission we were advancing.

God didn’t call me because I was equipped with the “right” skills. He called me because He knew that I would trust Him and lean on His strength. I found that each day, He provided what I needed—whether it was wisdom to make decisions, the courage to take on new challenges, or the perseverance to keep going in moments of uncertainty. The skills I had gained through my business background became tools in my hands, but they were only effective because of God’s guidance.

The greatest lesson I’ve learned on this journey thus far, is that faith is about trusting God, even when we don’t feel qualified. Whether in finance, project management, or ministry, it’s about being faithful with what we have and trusting that God will equip us for the task at hand. I’ve seen how He uses our past experiences, our strengths, and even our weaknesses to further His Kingdom in ways we could never have imagined.

I am here today, not because I am qualified by the world’s standards, but because God has been faithful to provide every step of the way. Through project management, business studies, and the courage to step into the unknown, He has shaped me for this role, and He continues to use me in ways that I never thought possible. I may not have had a traditional ministerial path, but I know that God has called me to this place, and He will continue to guide me as I serve Him.

Looking back, I see that each piece of my journey—my education, my work experience, and my willingness to follow God’s call—has been a part of His plan to equip me for His mission. And as I move forward, I continue to trust that He will lead me in whatever lies ahead, knowing that He is faithful to equip those He calls, even in the most unexpected ways.
